The Hamptons at MetroWest
The Hamptons, a condominium project in Orlando, FL, had suffered long term rot damage due to water intrusion. Marcon designed a repair that provided for phasing the work to minimize impact and which included the removal and replacement of all damaged exterior wall framing, the removal and replacement of all windows and doors, and the installation of new waterproofing systems. Marcon also prepared the Request For Proposal that went out to bidders, pre-qualified contractors bidding the project, and reviewed bids to assure all were bidding the same repair scope. Once repairs started, Marcon oversaw the work for conformance to the repair plans.
The Metropolitan at Lake Eola
Marcon developed repairs for the downtown Orlando condominiums' pool deck and concrete support system. The pool deck was covered with an outdated, non-performing, multi-layered waterproofing membrane, while the pool was surrounded with a cracked and leaking precast curb. Under the pool deck, the supporting concrete slab and beams were cracking and spalling due to leaks from above. Marcon designed a repair that included the removal and replacement of the pool deck topping, the removal and replacement of the pool curb, and the repair of the cracked and spalled concrete underneath.
